Sameer Al Ansari
|
Chief Executive Officer
Sameer Al Ansari is the Chief Executive Officer SHUAA Capital and the Non-Executive Chairman of Dubai International Capital. He was previously Group CFO for The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and was involved in the establishment of Dubai Holding in 2004 before founding DIC in October 2004.
Mr. Al Ansari qualified as a chartered accountant in 1987 and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He holds an Honours degree in Accounting & Financial Management and a Diploma in Industrial Studies from Loughborough University, England. He started his career at the accountancy firm BDO in London. In 1987 he moved to Dubai with Ernst & Young. Prior to joining the Executive Office, he was Chief Financial Officer at Dubai Aluminium Company (DUBAL), where he played a key role in the turnaround of the Company. He is a board member of various companies including Dubai Holding and the Dubai International Financial Centre. He also sits on the boards of some of the DIC owned companies in Europe such as Doncasters, Travelodge, and Mauser AG and he is Chairman of Ishraq and Jordan Dubai Capital.
Sameer Al Ansari was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Loughborough University in July 2009 for outstanding achievement and leadership in finance.

Mohammed Ali Yasin

Chief Executive Officer – SHUAA Securities
Mohammed Ali Yasin, Managing Director of SHUAA Securities, is a University of London - Queen Mary & Westfield College graduate with a B.Sc in Computer Science. His experience in financial markets spans more than ten years and he is a member of the select brokerage committees nominated by the Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority, Abu Dhabi Securities Market (ADSM) and the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) which help in drafting new laws and regulations and advise on new market developments.
He has lead Emirates Securities since 1998 to become the largest private brokerage firm in the UAE and now a part of SHUAA Securities during which he grew the company from AED 1 Million in capital and one office to a phenomenal AED 120 Million in equity and five offices.
In September 2006, Yasin became the CEO of SHUAA Securities, the regional brokerage arm of SHUAA Capital. In this new role, he capitalized on the strong reputation and performance of Emirates Securities and consolidated it under the new SHUAA Securities brand. Within a short time of his new appointment, Yasin has effectively grown SHUAA Securities into the largest regional brokerage platform in terms of market coverage spanning eight regional markets, capitalizing on SHUAA Capital’s extensive network and institutional client base.
A frequent guest on the leading financial programs in local and regional broadcast channels, Yasin has established his expertise to become a highly trusted authority and financial analyst on the local and regional financial markets.

Makram Kubeisy
|
Managing Director - Investment Banking Group
Mr. Kubeisy has varied transactional experience in Corporate and Project Finance in the Middle East. Prior to joining SHUAA, he was a consultant to the International Finance Corporation (IFC), advising the Government of Lebanon on the privatization of Middle East Airlines, the national flag carrier.
Mr. Kubeisy previously held the position of Vice President of Corporate Finance at Middle East Capital Group, a regional investment bank based in Beirut – Lebanon. Prior to that, he worked for the Arab Banking Corporation in London and the World Bank in Washington DC. Mr. Kubeisy holds an M.E.A. degree in Finance and a B.A. in Civil Engineering, both from George Washington University in Washington D.C.

Nadi Bargouti
|

Head of Asset Management
Mr. Bargouti started off as a fund of funds analyst before moving into portfolio management. He gained portfolio management experience in the UAE where he worked for Amanah which is a private company owned by a member of the Abu Dhabi Royal Family. Mr. Bargouti has also managed US$ 1.5 billion at the Saudi Investment Bank and US$ 3.5 billion at Integra Capital Management. Most recently at Samba Capital, he managed in excess of US$8.5 billion in asset under management. Mr. Bargouti has been responsible for the management of government discretionary portfolio’s and structuring several mutual funds across global markets and the GCC raising US$ 2 billion. His expertise also includes structuring an array of Shari’a compliant funds, including a US$ 2 billion infrastructure fund.
Mr. Bargouti graduated with distinction from McMaster University in Canada, with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Majoring in Finance). He was a recipient of the McMaster University Senate Award and is a CFA chartereholder.

Cormac Sheedy
|

Head of Sales
Mr. Sheedy joined Shuaa Capital in January 2010 as Head of Sales. His mandate is to create a best in class sales force, capable of offering the full range of Shuaa products.
He brings to Shuaa over 20 years experience in financial services having worked in a Sales management role with Invesco Asset Management and latterly with Fidelity.
Cormac moved to Dubai in 2003 to open and head up an office for Invesco in the DIFC. Prior to this he worked within the Bank of Ireland Group, in Ireland, London and as Marketing Manger in Jersey (Channel Islands) with Bank of Ireland Asset Management. He holds the IMC.

Omar Jaroudi
|
Chief Executive Officer – Saudi Arabia
Mr. Jaroudi, a Saudi national, comes with over 23 years of diversified experience in the fields of commercial and investment banking. He started his career in 1984 with the Saudi French Bank initially in commercial banking and later moved to investment banking.
In 1995, he moved on to help setting up Lebanon Invest, an investment bank which was merged in year 2000 with Banque Audi SAL after which Omar joined SHUAA Capital in 2007. During this period, he amassed vast and diversified experience both in the region as well as in Europe in the areas of investment banking, private equity, asset management, local and regional brokerage, and distribution. He also serves on the board of several companies both in Middle East and Europe.
Mr. Jaroudi holds a Masters Degree in Economics from Syracuse University in New York and a Bachelor in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut.

Oliver Schutzmann

Chief Communications Officer
Mr. Schutzmann brings international best practice investor relations to SHUAA Capital. His mandate is to provide the investment community with a timely, transparent and accurate picture of SHUAA Capital. In addition, he is responsible for investor relations advisory services, strategic equity marketing and value enhancing solutions for both private and listed companies.
Mr. Schutzmann has over 10 years experience in the disciplines of financial communications consulting and investor relations. His hands-on experience includes accompanying an IPO as member of the management team, launching one of the first small and mid cap funds in Germany and advising senior executives on the strategy and practice of investor relations in Europe, UK, USA and GCC region. Oliver started his career at Euromoney and has held senior positions with The Economist, Charles Barker smartcaps, FassEck & Cie, Smartequity Partners and ASDA’A Public Relations.

Leslie Rice
|

Group Chief Risk & Compliance Officer
Mr. Rice joined SHUAA Capital in January 2009 from the National Bank of Dubai, where he was Chief Risk Officer. He has more than twenty year's banking experience, having spent more than ten years in the Gulf.
His career has taken him from Grindlays Bank in London to his current position via major regional banks, including Riyad Bank, where he was Senior Vice President with responsibility for financial management.
Mr. Rice is an economics graduate and fellow of the London-based Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Nasreen Bulos
|
General Counsel
Nasreen Bulos, a graduate of Harvard University (B.A) and the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D.), has gained considerable experience as legal counsel at leading organizations such as Mars Incorporated and Dubai International Capital. With over 10 years experience in areas such as structured finance, banking, derivatives, investment funds and M&A transactions, Nasreen has developed an in-depth knowledge of finance law, corporate governance and compliance. Prior to her move in-house, Nasreen was in private practice for 5 years in the US law and Derivatives departments of the international law firm Allen & Overy.
A dual citizen of Jordan and the USA, Nasreen has spent the last several years in the region. Nasreen has been admitted as an attorney to the New York Bar Association (2000) and holds professional membership of the international bar association and the Jordan bar association.

Jim Beck
|
|
Director - Human Resources
Mr. Beck joined SHUAA Capital at the beginning of 2006 with a mandate to establish a strategic HR function that supports key business objectives. He graduated from Queen’s University Belfast, with a Bachelors degree in Social Science (Psychology & Sociology). His early career in Human Resource Management within Ford Motor Company Ltd. provided a strong grounding in professional HR processes including recruitment and selection, talent management, learning, organization development and compensation planning. Assignments during this period included, Manager Human Resources Development, Ford of Europe where he was involved in developing and implementing pan European HR initiatives.
Mr. Beck also brings extensive management consulting experience following six years at PricewaterhouseCoopers based out of their London firm. He was a senior member of the Strategic Change and Human Capital Solutions practices and was a lead tutor for Organization Design across Europe. More recently Jim returned to the corporate world with senior HR assignments in Polycom as European HR Director and Abbey National, a major UK bank, as HR Director responsible for Organization Effectiveness.

Samer Hamwi

Chief Information Officer
Mr. Hamwi directs information technology resources and initiatives involving systems engineering, control systems, and business process integration. Mr. Hamwi’s experience covers fifteen years in the US and eleven in the UAE. Prior to joining SHUAA Capital in 1999, Mr. Hamwi held senior IT and engineering posts within such major companies as USPCI subsidiary of Union Pacific Corporation in the US and the Gibca Group in the UAE.
Mr. Hamwi has a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of Texas, and a Master of Business Administration in International Business and Finance from the University of Houston.

Oliver Lee
|
Head - Risk Management
Mr. Lee joined SHUAA Capital in April 2007 from Mitsubishi UFJ Trust International where he headed Risk Management for London and Singapore. He was responsible for reorganizing their Risk group to meet the new regulatory requirements and greater business demands. This included enhancing the market and credit risk management structure and implementing a new operational risk framework.
Prior to Mitsubishi he was a Vice President in Risk Management at JP Morgan Chase in London overseeing various groups across EMEA. An outspoken speaker on risk, he represented the region on global risk initiatives headed out of New York and at industry wide risk committees. Earlier in his career he qualified as accountant then worked as a senior business analyst.
Mr. Lee graduated from Warwick University in the UK with a BSc(Hons) in Financial Analysis.
